Ferrous Ascorbate 100 mg+ Folic Acid 1.5 mg+ Zinc 22.5 mg

Islofer-XT Tablet belongs to a class of medications called ‘haematinics’ primarily used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) that occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food, or increased folate use in the body (in pregnancy). Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells for carrying adequate oxygen required to various body tissues.

Islofer-XT Tablet is a combination of three drugs: Ferrous ascorbate (iron), folic acid (a form of vitamin B9) and Zinc. Ferrous Ascorbate (Iron) transports oxygen throughout the body and maintains red blood cells, thus making an individual feel energetic and preventing anaemia. Folic acid is essential to numerous body functions ranging from nucleotide biosynthesis to the remethylating of homocysteine. It is especially important during periods of rapid cell division and growth. Thereby, increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBC is produced in the body, so that body’s each tissue gets sufficient supply of oxygen. Zinc is essential for normal foetal growth & milk production during pregnancy.

Islofer-XT Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor preferably after meal.. You are advised to take Islofer-XT Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, stomach upset or dark coloured stool. Most of these side effects of Islofer-XT Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Islofer-XT Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using Islofer-XT Tablet. If you have an allergy to any sugars, inform your doctor before taking Islofer-XT Tablet as it may contain lactose. If you have a stomach ulcer, vitamin B12 deficiency, any blood disorder, repeated blood transfusions, ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the colon), pernicious anaemia (anaemia due to lack of vitamin B12) or folate-dependent tumour, inform your doctor before taking Islofer-XT Tablet.

Key Indication of Islofer-XT Tablet:
Treatment of anaemia, especially during pregnancy and lactation. Iron Deficiency in some chronic diseases.
Use under medical supervision.
